Daucus carota - Kew Pollination Collection
Product Description

The Kew Pollinators range of seeds from Thompson and Morgan has been specially created alongside the experts at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew to attract and support a wide range of pollinators, including bees, butterflies and beetles, as well as a number of other important pollinating insects. Helping these pollinators to thrive is hugely important for our eco-system as a whole and these seeds, in their striking packaging inspired by artwork from the Kew archives, will help to create the environment which they need to thrive, with varieties chosen to help a wide range of pollinating insects, including some night flowering plants to help moths which also play an important part in our gardens.

Create a relaxed, hazy look in borders with this airy ornamental carrot, more commonly known as Queen Anne’s Lace. Delicate white umbels of flowers create a beautiful frothy effect at the back of borders, attracting bees and other pollinators. The upright stems and ferny foliage provide fabulous texture and movement to planting schemes. The seed heads also create frosty silhouettes if left standing over winter.

Try combining Daucus carota with late-summer perennials or wildflowers for a classic, natural-looking style. Grow plenty of this annual so that you can spare a few stems for a vase indoors - their graceful charm makes for a gorgeous country-style bouquet. Height: 80cm (31"). Spread: 40cm (16").
