Compact and ball shaped with bright blue flowers.
Sow in late spring early summer outdoors in a well prepared seed bed. Sow the seeds very thinly 3mm (1/8in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart. Keep the soil damp until germination takes place and thin out the seedlings to 15cm (6in) apart when large enough to handle.
Transplant 23cm (9in) apart into flowering site in the autumn for flowering the following spring.
They will grow in most sites and soils but do best in part shade.
